The title of this post is honestly me! I am a greedy pig when it comes to all things sweet. If we run out of eggs or milk I actually cannot leave Tesco without also buying a tub (or 2 if they’re on offer – because srsly how can you not?) or 2 family packets of whisper bites and some dairy milk to wash it all down!
This meme literally kills me 🤣 it is honestly a horrendous feeling when you go bikini shopping and look in H&M’s mirror to feel more Michillan man than Michelle Keegan and tubs of Ben and Jerrys and homemade s’mores really don’t help the issue (on a fat day I WILL post these though because OMG)! Buttt.. I mentioned a few weeks ago I’ve been really trying to stop myself binge eating (as much as usual) and I’ve been trying to snack on ‘less-horrendously-bad-for-you’ treats instead. Also, my obsession with MyFitnessPal has helped because on the days where I’ve been off the wagon and have literally had to type in a ridiculous amount of chocolate it’s made me feel bad enough to not repeat the next day!
Here are my go-to snacks at the moment- I generally have one during the day at work and one or two at night when I’m watching telly!
Easy ‘off the shelf’ treats:
Aldi – Peanut cacao bars – these are actually the sh**t. I have one every single day and I <3 them lots.
Halo Top – you may need to take out a small loan first but OH.MY.GOD it’s good… especially the salted caramel one – I honestly do not understand how it isn’t more calories… but I sure as hell ain’t complaining! Some nights when you are desp for a bit of something sweet a scoop of this really does the trick.
Deliciously Ella bites – Could probs make yourself a lot cheaper but they’re tasty and I’m lazy!
75% small chocolate bars – so dark chocolate is NEVER going to be as good as dairy milk and I don’t care what you say! But… it is ace if you’re craving a bit of something sweet and the fact they come wrapped individually stops you scoffing the lot!
Options hot chocolate – 40 calories per drink! If you add a marshmallow you can almost convince yourself it’s Cadbury’s (I said almost!) but it actually is really comforting and who doesn’t love a hot drink at 8pm in their pjs!?
Or, if you’re feeling like getting your Great British Bake-off on and have a spare 40 mins… these ‘Body Coach’ little oat and raisin cookies are FIRE! 🔥
So, it’s 5 mins to make the mix. 20 mins to sit impatiently as they’re in the fridge, another 10 mins of hell whilst they’re in the oven… then 1 second of joy as you eat it! Haha – but worth it!
Recipe:
- 100g oats
- 1 x heaped tea spoon of baking powder
- 90g plain or wholemeal flour
- Pinch of salt and cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 x tablespoons melted coconut oil
- 150g honey
- 50g raisins
Literally throw it all together and mix and then shove it in the fridge for half an hour to stiffen up a bit then spoon 12 blobs onto a lined baking tray on 180 for 10/12 mins and try not to eat them all in 10 seconds. (If you’re feeling the cravings real bad… you could always chuck a spoon of nutella inside one – no one will know!).
I mean… I’m not winning any prizes for presentation but as Dua Lipa would say IDGAF – they’re still tasty!
